Life at NUST

"Time flies by when you are in the place you are meant to be."

This quote basically sums up my life at NUST. It only feels like yesterday, that I arrived at the gates of Ghazali Hostels, carrying my suitcases at my sides, unaware of the challenges before me.

Adapting to new conditions was only the tip of the iceberg. The biggest challenge I faced was managing my time. Every hour of the day, somewhere something is happening. And being a part of that something is what I love. Following are a few of the ways I enjoy spending my time in.

Whenever I get free from my lectures, Snooker is my main go-to. Although a beginner, every frame I play helps improve my game. The satisfaction you get from potting a ball is the reason why I sometimes even spend hours at a snooker table.

And the person who oversees all my training. My guru, my master, my sensei - Mr. Zunair Saleem. Arguably, the best player to ever hold a snooker cue at NUST. His approval is the only thing I truly strive for.

No matter the time of day, you will always see a crowd at NBS Ground. The place where me and my team come whenever we feel like tasting some victory. But we have to be careful. Matches can get competitive and injuries are common. And the blue cabin in the picture is where all the good stuff is stored. Basketball, volleyball, football - you name it, they got it.

With friends and looking for some place to sit back, relax and just drink some chai? You can't do better than the Retro Café. The vibes and aesthetics are really something to appreciate. Slow music playing in the background at night is just a cherry on top. Here, many ideas are shared, and many secrets revealed.

Bowling Alley. The arena where many rivalries are born. The ball went straight into the gutter? Do not worry for you can blame everything from the size of the ball to the straightness of the lanes. Hit a strike and you get high-fives from all around. In the end, it's all just goofy fun when you're playing with your friends.

Amidst all this hustle and bustle, a person may find himself in need of some solitude. Some peace, if only for a few moments. I find these moments when I take some time to appreciate the beauty here. The smell of flowers and their vibrant colours. Lush, green trees of different kinds.  Even wandering about aimlessly somehow feels productive because of these.

Cats - A creature I was afraid of interacting with at first, but as they say, "With the right people you find joy in everything." That right person was Hammad for me, who showed me what I was missing out on. Now half our day is spent chasing after these cute furballs. Without any regrets of course.

And in the end, that's me. Looking at the horizon, aiming for the next milestone, planning for the next challenge. A lot to achieve and a lot to learn before the clock stops ticking.

Thank you for your attention!

  1. Your blog is pretty amazing. One thing i liked about your blog is that it presents your habits and daily routine. The only suggestion i would give to you is that try to make your more appealing and attractive at first glance so that the reader must be involved in your story. Otherwise, great job !
